ESL ESEA's CS:GO Dubai Invitational kicked off on the wrong foot... and at a second glance, that's probably an understatement: the world-class CS:GO event started off with Slovenia's Gaming Paradise having several of their players go down and hit the hospital with a fever.

Things weren't much brighter on the technical side either: the 37C ambient temperature caused some of the hardware to hiccup as CPUs were throwing in the towel left and right. Eventually though, despite all the problems and hurdles, the event did manage to play down to a spectacular conclusion. The finals, which pitted team Virtus.pro against TSM (only invited at popular request) took 5-matches to conclude and the winners did indeed end up putting in the most impressive and spectacular final half of their careers on their way to the top spot.

Spectacular plays abounded through the tournament too and it weren't just the winners who did great in this respect.

Aleksi Jalli of the Ninjas in Pijamas pulled off a feat worthy of a true ninja: having parked himself in a corner, looking to save his AWP for the following round, he let the entire enemy team run right past him before scoring a kill on Happy who ended up perched on top of him. All-in-all though, NiP didn't have a good tournament, sparking suspicion that their "NiP magic" may have gotten lost between the lines somewhere...

Another highlight reel-worthy performance was the one Pawel "byali" Bielinski turned in around forklift, through a series of moves which saw him score no fewer than 3 consecutive one-tap headshots on team Fnatic, effectively punching his team's ticket to the final.

Last but definitely not least, NiP delivered once again on A-site against TSM in one of the semi-finals, when Friberg and f0rest pulled off a stacked peek over the wall to catch their opponents completely off-guard.
